We offer two Helicopter Private Pilot programs: Private Pilot and Private Pilot Add-on. The private pilot program is for students that do not
already hold an FAA private pilot certificate or better. The
add-on program is for students who already hold an FAA Private Pilot certificate
(i.e. airplane).
Helicopter Private Pilot
FAA Requirements:
- Obtain a Third Class Medical Certificate
- Obtain 40 hours
helicopter flight time, 30
hrs. dual, 10 hrs. solo
(these times are FAA minimums,
and in our experience they
are inadequate - the hours
listed in the
"costs" section
below reflect the
real-world average.)
- Pass an FAA knowledge
test
- Pass an FAA practical
test (includes 1.5 hours helicopter rental)
