Tyler Sturdevant
CFI - CFII Helicopter
CFI - CFII Airplane

Some call it a blessing, others call it a curse, but Tyler has aviation running through his blood. Being the son of a professional fixed-wing and helicopter pilot, Tyler was exposed to the amazing opportunities of aviation at a very young age (on the way home from the hospital after being born). Since that point, airplanes and helicopters have been all Tyler has thought about. Working a full-time job, attending high school and going through flight school, Tyler earned his Private Fixed-Wing and Rotorcraft license on the same day at the young age of 17. The following year he finished his training by obtaining his Commercial, CFI and CFII in both Fixed-Wing and Helicopter. Tyler’s story shows that people of all ages can enjoy the benefits of aviation as either a career or hobby. All it takes is the will and passion to do it.

 Ben Davenport
CFI - CFII Helicopter

Ben grew up in the hamlet of Highmount, New York, which is nestled in the Catskill Mountains. When he was in 4th grade he got to watch helicopters erect a ski lift. Since then he has always had the desire to fly, but did not believe it could become a reality. One sunny morning while camping in Bryce Canyon, he was sipping coffee and pondering his dissatisfaction with his job as an engineer. Just then a helicopter flew over the rim of the canyon, giving passengers what must have been a spectacular view, he thought, "I wish I was flying that helicopter!" That is what spurred his move to Newberg to train with Precision Helicopters. He is now a Certified Flight Instructor for Instruments in a helicopter and working toward his ultimate goal of flying for a heli-skiing operation.

Christian Boatsman
CFI - CFII Helicopter
Advanced Ground Instructor
Instrument Ground Instructor

Christian Boatsman is a helicopter Certified Flight Instructor (Instrument), an instrument-rated airplane Private Pilot, an Advanced Ground Instructor, an Instrument Ground Instructor, and a member of NAFI and AOPA. He started flying airplanes in 1990, then took a very long break before taking an intro ride in a helicopter. He enjoyed it so much, he moved to Oregon to begin flight school at Precision. Christian has a Masters degree in Film Production, and was a film/TV sound editor and computer systems administrator before switching to the aviation industry. He also used to sell Slurpies™ at 7-11, but flying helicopters is much more fun.
