Dennis Sturdevant (1959-2011)
Dennis established Precision Helicopters in 1983 along with his wife Nancy. Their initial vision was aimed at providing personalized instruction to students who wanted to learn from instructors with real world experience.
Their success in this field quickly allowed them to build up a dedicated maintenance facility and charter business. Then in 1990 the purchase of Chehalem Airpark gave the company the unique advantage of owning and controlling its own airport.
Dennis's passion for all things aviation spread through the family and his son Tyler was a licensed pilot before he could be licensed to drive. Dennis accumulated over 16,000 hours of flight time in helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, his enthusiasm for flight and passing on his knowledge to others, never diminishing.
Dennis passed away from illness in 2011, his family remains integrally involved in Precision. The company remains committed to the vision that Dennis spent his life striving towards. His legacy and passion are in Precision's DNA.
